become a COACH
Want to BEcome a COACH?
Want to get involved with coaching a team?
We warmly welcome you to our club and thank you for committing your time and energy to being a Coach
These volunteer roles are critical as part of a healthy, thriving association which benefits us all.
Our goal is to cultivate the love of basketball in our Players, Coaches, Team Managers and all other Volunteers within our Basketball community.
There are so many great reasons to become a Coach:
- You’ll be supporting and encouraging your child’s love of Basketball!
- You’ll be contributing to a community based sport that is completely run by volunteers!
- You’ll be a role model to your child, and other young people in our Basketball community!
- You’ll learn new skills and gain knowledge!
- You can enhance your resume by including volunteer work! ( For the younger folk in our community!)
- You can make new friends and build parent networks!
…and because it’s fun!
Steps to becoming a Coach:
- Join your Team’s WhatsApp group for communications and updates from the Association and your Team Manager
- Coordinate training through your Team Manager and/or team players
- Become a BBBA member. Important to note that all volunteers across Byron Bay Basketball Association are required to join as a financial member. The current cost is $13.34 per annum. This membership will ensure that you are covered by insurance in the case of accident or injury. Please use the link here and select Coach as the member type. Please use this link
- Complete a Working with Children form. All volunteers in NSW that have any contact or affiliation with people under the age of 18 must hold a valid and current NSW Working with Children Check. Please note your birth date is required for verification with the NSW Office of the Childrens’ Guardian, and that checks from other states are not acceptable.
